McCormack Construction delivered the North Powder School District Bond Projects following the passage of the district’s first bond in decades. Working closely with the Superintendent, School Board, and design team, McCormack provided complete Construction Manager and General Contractor services for a series of campus improvements that support long-term educational needs.
The project included construction of a new ground-up high school gymnasium, an 8,000-square-foot administration building, and a high school classroom facility with eight large classrooms. Improvements also focused on creating safe, secure access between district buildings while optimizing shared spaces across the campus.
Completed in an 11-month timeline, the project required early procurement and careful planning due to the district’s remote location. McCormack secured subcontractor participation across all trades, met the district’s financial goals, and coordinated closely with the owner to align design decisions with program needs.
The bond program was supported by an Oregon School Capital Improvement Matching (OSCIM) grant, further emphasizing the importance of cost control and schedule certainty. The project was completed under budget and on time, establishing a strong working relationship with the district and resulting in multiple follow-on projects.
