McCormack Construction partnered with the Eastern Oregon Alcohol Foundation on a ground-up residential treatment facility in Pendleton, Oregon, designed to expand access to substance abuse recovery services across the region. The $2.3 million project provides critical resources for patients seeking treatment and represents a meaningful investment in community health and wellness.

The project involved construction of a 34,690-square-foot wood-framed facility with an asphalt shingle roof, housing 18 in-patient rooms for residential treatment. McCormack served as CM/GC, delivering a fully functional recovery center complete with a new parking lot and site access designed to support operations. The facility was built to meet the growing demand for substance abuse treatment services in Eastern Oregon.

Key challenges included navigating existing site conditions, managing site access constraints, coordinating city-required utility rerouting, and overcoming the distance from existing utilities to the new facility. To address these issues, McCormack worked closely with the owner to develop a revised site plan that maintained adequate construction access without interfering with a neighboring apartment complex under the same ownership. The team also collaborated with the City of Pendleton to meet utility design requirements while minimizing budget impacts.

McCormack coordinated with subcontractors to identify the most efficient methods and routes for bringing utilities to the new facility. Careful planning and communication ensured that city requirements were met and construction progressed smoothly. The project was completed in nine months, resulting in a safe and productive job site and a strong partnership with the Eastern Oregon Alcohol Foundation.
