
Ty is currently serving as the Pre-Construction Manager at McCormack. With over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Ty is a third-generation construction professional. His early exposure to the field stemmed from working with his grandfather at A.C Woolsey Construction during his elementary, middle, and high school summers. Following high school, Ty pursued various roles including framing residential homes, heavy equipment operation, welding/fabrication, and construction foremanship. In 2010, he transitioned to a minority-owned small business, focusing on federal construction projects.
In 2014, Ty obtained certifications as a Building Official and inspector for the City of Pendleton, where he held jurisdiction for over a decade and supervised numerous projects. During this tenure, Ty also provided contract Building Official, plan review, and inspection services for neighboring jurisdictions, including Wallowa County, Oregon, Morrow County, Oregon, and the City of Hermiston, Oregon. Notably, Ty holds international and state of Oregon certifications as a plan reviewer and inspector for structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire & life safety. His expertise spans across value engineering, regulations, research, administration, and planning.
Ty earned a dual bachelor’s degree in public administration and fire science from Eastern Oregon University. In addition to his role at McCormack, he serves as the Vice Chair for the Horizon Project, a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing and professional development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ty’s wife Kara also works at McCormack Construction as the Financial Controller, Ty and Kara have 3 children, Royce, Austin, and Tyler.
