Columbia River Health Services Medical Building

McCormack Construction partnered with Columbia River Health Services on a ground-up medical facility in Boardman, Oregon, designed to expand healthcare access for the rural community. The $2.7 million project was completed in 2012 under the leadership of Dr. Robert J. Boss, Medical Director, and represents a significant investment in regional healthcare infrastructure.

The project involved construction of a 13,417-square-foot medical building located at 450 Tatone Street. McCormack served as the design-build lead and hard bid general contractor, delivering a fully functional healthcare facility tailored to meet the operational needs of Columbia River Health Services. The building was designed to support efficient patient flow and provide comprehensive medical services to Boardman and the surrounding areas.

Key challenges included working within the constraints of a rural community with a limited budget while adhering to a tight 10-month construction schedule. To address these issues, McCormack worked closely with the owner to ensure accurate programming and facility flow that aligned with operational requirements. Value engineering efforts were applied throughout construction to control costs without compromising quality or functionality.

Strict schedule adherence and continuous communication with the owner were critical to the project’s success. McCormack’s team maintained close coordination to ensure milestones were met and any adjustments were made efficiently. The result was a project completed on time and under budget, reinforcing a strong partnership with Columbia River Health Services.

For McCormack Construction, this project demonstrates the company’s ability to deliver complex healthcare facilities in rural settings while meeting stringent budget and schedule requirements. The Columbia River Health Services Medical Building continues to serve as a vital resource for the Boardman community, providing accessible, quality healthcare to residents across the region.
