Pendleton Arts Center

McCormack Construction completed the renovation of the historic Pendleton Arts Center, formerly the 1916 Carnegie Library Building, transforming it into a revitalized cultural hub for the community. Delivered through Construction Manager and General Contractor services with design-build leadership, the 4,000-square-foot renovation preserved the building’s historic character while upgrading it to meet modern standards.

The scope of work included improvements to aging infrastructure and utilities, the addition of ADA accessibility, and updated interior finishes. Special care was taken to ensure all renovations remained era-appropriate, honoring the architectural integrity and historical significance of this registered landmark.

Working closely with the owner throughout design and construction, McCormack focused on accurate programming, efficient facility flow, and extensive value engineering during preconstruction. Clear communication and disciplined schedule management were critical to delivering the project successfully over the multi-year timeline.

Completed under budget and on time, the Pendleton Arts Center now serves as an important gathering place for people of all ages—supporting creativity, education, and access to the arts. The project reflects McCormack Construction’s experience in historic renovation and public works, balancing preservation with long-term community use.
